A blog of periodic notes about life, general and specific. No daily journal, no promised schedule. All entries will be from a Historic Christian perspective. I welcome responses from all perspectives.
Hello Curt! I was sad to see the video from this guy, but not surprised. There is this emergent church trend out there and it is very dangerous--building mostly on culture and not the Word of God. Mark Driscoll is another who pushes very hard in this direction. This seems to be the new thing in the States. Churches that are part of the culture and have no power to change the culture. People love it because they get their God fix and are entertained and then they can go about living the same life they always lived. This guy doesn't bother me though because I continue to hope in our Sovereign God.
Curt- found your blog by flicking through to 'next blog'. Yes there are those that fall by the way and no we don't always know the reason. I praise God and thank him for his grace and choice of me. I thank him for his creation and love. I identify with being in charge. My wife June says that if I were there would be civil war in three days and world war in six. I counter and peace in seven. May the Lord be with you. My blog is called beauties of creation. Dave.chboy
Rob and Dave, I note the common element of God's sovereignty in your comments. Amen and Amen. yes, the emerging or emergents are a dangerous trend In their quest for "hipness," they leave out the unhip and God Himself.
Curt- what would we do without the sovereignty of God? Years ago I was asked to give a shallow message because the folks at that particular fellowship were not yet ready for strong meat. How long hve they been believers I asked? About 30 years came the reply. They received a meaty message. Christians can and do often underestimate the convicting power of the Spirit of God.
